Course Pedagogy
The PGDM course design and pedagogy emphasizes the development of students' skills and abilities to apply management theories and concepts to live problems in business and industry. Students are expected to achieve high standards of excellence. The pedagogy includes - lectures, case studies, seminars, group discussions, business games, outbound based experiential learning activities, educational excursions, role plays, simulation exercises, structured and unstructured group work, and field visits. The emphasis is on involving the students in learning and helping them to relate concepts and theories to business requirements. It also enables students to acquire skills in identifying and dealing with complex problems in management, especially in this era of globalization of industrial and commercial activity and the resulting intense competition. The students also undertake several field-based projects so that they can get better insights into the workplace reality. The institute will rely on case method of teaching, as it is known to contribute towards widening the students' perspective of looking at the problem and developing their ability to think of innovative solutions. This participatory process generates curiosity among students and inculcates the skills of Decision-making, Leadership, Communication, and Negotiation, which are considered essential for an accomplished manager.
